Soggy Soup

Here's a poem and illustration from my archives...dating back to the sixth grade when I was 11 years old (click image to enlarge). I wrote it for a friend of mine who would commiserate with me daily over the state of our cafteria soup (and related contents). Interestingly enough, we became friends during a school trip to the zoo where we shared a box of soggy fries. We'd joke about our horrible lunches and even nicknamed one another "Soggy Soup" and "Soggy Fries" (I can't remember who was who though). Our friendship was lovely, the food we ate...well, was rather soggy. But we still had a good time!

You can actually see my teacher's handwriting commenting "Good" along with a check mark.

  1. Oh wow... I absolutely love this. The little "poem" is priceless and the illustration is great. You can tell so much from children's art. Very colorful too! Aunt Jackie's stamp of approval!! hee hee

  2. Aw thanks AJ! :)

I have some more art from my school days stored away somewhere. I'll post those too later on! They make me laugh! I have some nice pieces sketched by my friends from back then too. I'll add them also.
