Happy Mother's Day

The best Mama's Day gift I ever bought for my mum was when I was eight years old. Actually, my brother and I bought it together at the corner variety store, with ten hard earned dollars in our pockets. Our money was put to good use, as we found a small, white picture frame (see image to the left) adorned with an illustration of a mother robin and her two offspring, settled comfortably in a nest, perched atop a branch of cherry blossoms. There was even a quote on the frame which read:

"A mother's love is warm like sunshine.
Thank you mom for the sunshine you bring."

Mum still has that frame. In fact, I think it was the only Mother's Day gift that she ever kept (there were some doozies). We even had the gift wrapped in tissue paper. Believe me, that was a huge deal for us.

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful mothers out there. Whether across the globe, down the street or safe in heaven, hope all the mothers out there know that they're loved and appreciated beyond words.
