"Melendez, the only animator permitted by Charles M. Schulz to work with the Peanuts characters, earned eight Emmy Awards, 17 Emmy nominations, one Oscar nomination and two Peabody Awards. He began his career at Disney and Warner Bros., working on classic characters at those studios, and spent more than 70 years in the entertainment industry." (THR.com)
What a loss.
RIP now he's a person I'm sure that many look up to. Love to be like him.
ReplyDeleteDangit!! What shall we do now?? All the good animators are falling off.
ReplyDeleteMakes me sad. :(
I'm going to have to well myself up in my livingroom in a couch-cushion "fort", and eat hershey bars until I'm in a diabetic coma, watching cartoons...
Don't try'n stop me lol
K_Tigress: He's a hero to so many kids. Every time you think of the Peanuts, Schulz and Melendez immediately come to mind.
ReplyDeleteAunt Jackie: I know Jax, it's really sad. Hurts. :(
