The last time I visited Mumbai, it was the mid 80s and I was a kid. Mumbai (or Bombay as it was called back then) was breathtaking in its beauty, shocking in its honesty and mysterious in its never ending activity. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the people, the places and the secrets it kept were fascinating. It truly was a city that never slept. I distinctly remember feeling that the city itself took on its own persona: like it was a person with feelings, movement and thought.

This week, the city's heart was broken. As violence gripped Mumbai, much to everyone's horror and disbelief, it was not surprising that the humanity of its people and those who frequent the city, outshone the hatred that attacked. Of course.

Now that's the way to mend a broken heart. Peace and love to those lovely souls we lost.

  1. So sorry to hear about that. It's hard to keep our faith in humanity. I do wish peace and love to those taken away, and affected by this tragedy.

  2. Lovely comment Jax. Beautifully said.
