Baby Duck

"In 1971 they created Baby Duck – a soft-drink-sweet blend of red and white Chanté wines. Hugely successful, Baby Duck was the best-selling domestic wine during the 1970s..."

By all means take your Spumante Bambinos because Mama still knocks back bottles of Baby Duck.

Well, not exactly bottles...I'd say "ounces" was a more truthful unit of measure. She's not a heavy drinker, Mama. She dabbles in gentle red wines for medicinal purposes (that's what she'll tell you). The Bible permits it, so her pompous evangelical kinfolk need not fret. They never drink a drop, not even of Baby Duck (that's what they'll tell you).

This post is dedicated to that simple little wine/refreshment drink that rocked the 1970s (and early 80s)a bottle of which often found its way into our fridgeand the folks from my neighborhood (including Mama) who indulged in glasses of Baby Duck with us.

Now taking you way back:
