Peanuts Movie 2015

The last time Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the entire Peanuts gang gathered on the big screen was in 1980 with a gem of a film called Bon Voyage Charlie Brown (And Don't Come Back!!). That's right, a 32 year drought of Peanuts films. There were only three other feature films with the Peanuts trademark of humour, heartbreak and soulful contemplation: A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969), Snoopy, Come Home (1972) and Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown (1977). We won't have to wait much longer—well 3 years to be exact—as it's been announced that a new Peanuts flick will be gracing our neighbourhood theaters in 2015. It will be the first Peanuts film to be produced after creator Charles M. Schulz's passing. Charlie Brown enthusiasts can delight in the fact that this venture will remain in the Schulz family. The film will be a collaboration between the heirs of Charles M. Schulz and 20th Century Fox Animation. The new Peanuts feature film will hit theaters on November 25, 2015.

    1. Aww, thanks so much for thinking of me and for your kind words Doug! The news really made my day. It's been so long since we had a Peanuts flick and boy were those ever wonderful. As soon as it's out, you can be sure there will be a review ready for ya here! :)

  2. Interesting. I wonder though if this is going to be another CG animated movie or is this going to be animated in the traditional way? Just seems that all the movies are going that route of CG and 3D. It would be nice to see more traditional stuff being done as much as I like good digital animated movies.

Also congrats to your new fellow kid at heart blogger partner. Looking forward to the stuff he will provide. :D

    1. Hi Tina! I also hope it will animated in the traditional way. Just can't imagine a Peanuts flick any other way. Just my guess but I think they'll be going for that traditional vibe—Schulz's family has been devoted to upholding his vision. Fingers crossed.

Brad's great and I'll pass on your lovely comment to him. Thanks Tina :)

  3. You mean they actually have a release date picked almost four years in advance for a movie that hasn't been made yet? And I fear that it will be made with 3D CGI technology as well, although maybe a 3D Charlie Brown will look cool.
