RIP Florence Henderson

This one really hurts.

Florence Henderson 1934-2016

The world's beloved TV-Mom, Florence Henderson (a.k.a Carol Brady) sadly passed away yesterday, November 24, 2016 (Thanksgiving Day in America) at the age of 82.

How blessed we all were to have her vibrant and kind energy in our lives as we made our way through childhood (and beyond). Who could ever forget that melodic voice? A fierce talent and a gem of a lady. RIP.

  1. I often think that our generation was blessed to have lived when we did. Things weren't perfect, but there was more positivity and hope. And it was more fun. Whenever an icon of our era passes on, it seems just that much more that another part of that era (the '60s, '70s, and '80s) also slips away.

Florence Henderson was like a TV mom to a lot of us. I remember watching the Brady Bunch in afternoon reruns after school (and sometimes when I was sick and stayed home from school), and, although today some would say it comes accross as unrealistic, back then that show was hopeful and fun and positive. We were blessed to have been part of that.

    1. What an awesome comment Lazlo! We were so blessed to have grown up in that era. It was just different. There were so many changes—people were evolving, questioning and feeling their way towards something more hopeful or trying to anyway. Brady Bunch was a huge part of my childhood, especially after school. Such a great escape!
